18 Month Appointment

Last week Anna had her 18 month appointment. She's stretched out - she grew two inches and lost 1 1/2 pounds since her 15 month appointment. That puts her in the 95% for height and 60% for weight for her age. I asked the doctor if it was normal for kids to lose weight like that and she looked at Anna and said, "Well, she certainly isn't starving." So guess we're okay - all that running around she does nowadays burns off a lot of energy!
We went to Fargo this fall and checked out the zoo.

They have a carousel at the zoo so I thought it would be fun to go on it with her. This was right before the ride started. As soon as it got going Anna freaked out - she was completely petrified. Her whole body was just shaking and she wailed the whole time. We were the only ones on there but the operator didn't stop it for a long time and those things move fast! I even got a little dizzy. So lesson learned: no more carousels for a long time.

Here she is going up the stairs by herself. She wanted us to put Bucky's jacket on her and she was very proud of it - she looked like she had a superhero cape on so we got a chuckle out of it.

Papa's Pumpkin Patch

Today we went to Papa's Pumpkin Patch - as soon as we left the house it started to rain so we didn't stay very long because it was cold out. We realized it's time that we go and buy Anna some new hats and mittens!

They have old satellite dishes painted like sunflowers.
This was Anna's favorite part of the day, probably because it got her out of the rain.
Walking through the corn maze. It was cold!

Picking out a pumpkin!

So many choices....

Think that one is a little big, Anna....

Yes, it's been awhile.....

We've been MIA with postings lately - here's a few from this week. Last month at her 15th month appointment she was in the 95% for weight (27 pounds) and 90% for height (30 inches). She loves books, started playing dress-up with my clothes this week, and thinks toy trucks and cars are way cool, especially when she can play with Daddy.

This rocking chair was originally my mom's - I used it when I was little and now Anna sits in it all the time.

We discovered this week that Anna likes to play hide and seek. It was a little scary the first time because I couldn't find her anywhere and Martin finally found her in my closet. Of course she was very proud of herself for not saying anything when I was calling for her! Here she is hiding out in our front hall closet :)

Who wants to take a bath when you can run around naked and open up cupboards?

Goofy

Anna is one of the funniest people I've ever met. I know, I'm biased. But every day is just so much fun with our goofy girl!

Water fun....

Guess who loves to play in the sprinkler?

July 4th, 2010

We spent the 4th at Clear Lake and had a great time...here's just a few pictures. More to come later!

Birthdays!

On the 4th we celebrated Beth's birthday (Martin says "Happy 40th!"), the 16th was Violet's, and the 19th was Laura's (Happy 39th....again, from Martin). Carol obviously can't believe Violet is 1 already.

Eating Lefse

To keep Anna true to her Norwegian roots, she ate her first piece of lefse last month. She approves :)

Haircut

I don't know how to rotate pictures, but here's Anna's newest haircut. I went a bit short with the bangs. Good thing hair grows.

Dog Sitting

We are dog-sitting for the Jacobson's....Sandy fits right in with her cousins!

Orlando!

I had a conference in Orlando the first week of June so we decided to make it a family vacation!
