Anna's First Christmas

Anna had a great Christmas! My parents and uncle came to our house for a few days and the Jacobson clan joined us on Christmas Eve. Anna continues to enjoy new foods - she's tried a few more foods and her favorites are squash, peas, and a peas/spinich/brown rice combo. She's still unsure about green beans and is definitely not a fan of pureed turkey and chicken. Can't say I blame her on that one. I think we'll have to try tofu in some broth pretty soon!

Anna has also found out that it's really fun to stand up - she can't sit up or stand on her own but if we set her on her feet she'll grab on to the recliner and gets very excited about seeing the world from that view! Martin has taught her to shake her booty and bounce up and down. I wonder what she'll learn when they spend the entire summer together while I'm at work!!!!

6 Month Check-Up

Anna had her 6-month appointment today and she handled the four vaccinations (OUCH!) very well. Better than her parents did, actually. Afterwards we took a nap together under the glow of the Christmas tree lights - it was relaxing! She weighs in at a whopping 19 pounds, 2 ounces and is 27 inches long. Both are at the 95% for her age so she's growing growing growing. The pediatrician was very impressed with the size of her thighs. They'll be very sturdy when she starts walking!

We've ventured into the world of solid foods - she's okay with rice cereal, loves peas, and is undecided about green beans. We'll try sweet potatoes soon.

It's been a busy few weeks! We spent Thanksgiving at Tubby's house and then my dad and I left for San Francisco because my great-uncle Ted passed away. We will miss him. On the up-side it was wonderful to see my family and fill up on Japanese food. And I discoved how much my dad enjoyed persimmons - he stole as many as he could from the tables at the memorial service. Yah, nothing like stuffing your coat pockets and filling your purse with the centerpieces to show everyone how classy we are, don't cha know..... :)

Anna is working on crawling - tonight she managed to get up on her hands and knees for a few seconds. Pretty soon she'll be mobile - scary!!!! She goes in for her 6-month appointment tomorrow and will get another round of immunizations. She's been pulling on her ear and been a bit fussy every few days - I keep saying it and it hasn't happened yet but I think she's close to getting her first tooth!
